Jiggity-Jog, I am back to the BLOG!

jigGIty-JoG, I am back to my BLoG!
We have moved to the great state of Arizona where in Tucson:
  • they hang their State Flag as high as the American Flag.
  • it is evident, that no one planned the streets here.
  • the public library may be small, but we have access to 27 others.
  • the weather is gorgeous 9 months out of the year.
  • the people are friendly and when they see my Utah DL, they say "Welcome to Tucson".
  • you never go to Costco on a Friday morning, b/c you will either get hit by an elderly person trying to get 1 of the 20 Handicapped Parking spots, or you will be stuck behind one slowly walking around the store. (and you all know, I love the elderly!:))
  • you can actually get a $.79 fountain drink with pebble ice- at every Circle K!
  • the mexican food is to die for! (Salsa made in front of you, nothing better)
  • every Scout Leader is a guy, and Scouts is HUGE here, aka: Scouters.
  • everything runs East/West, not North/South.
  • I thought it would be ugly and just desert. It is beautiful, green, and the mountains and palm trees make a gorgeous site!
  • I am only 5 hours from El Paso!
  • you really should do your dishes (no soaking)sweep and mop every night, or you may have weird bugs/flies in your house. (and you know me and dishes:P)

WE ARE DOING WELL!

Just a few pix below, more to come...

Josie loves the blended creme's at Starbucks...and no, there is no coffee/caffeine in these.
Visiting the Taylor's in El Paso, a little game of "hands and foot".

Bry going on a bike ride with Tom. I, personally, love the spandex!

My 3 peeps! I love these kiddos! They have been so awesome and helpful since we've moved here. They've all made a lot of friends, they haven't been late for school once (they leave at 7:30 a.m.), and they love the warm weather, and of course, THE SWIM POOL!
I will try each week to post. This is going to be my new journaling, with the ups and downs, the fun and the doldrums, and everything else in between... We miss all of you terribly! Bry and the kids are doing so well here adjusting. I will be honest, I am home sick. Not for Utah, but for the conveniences of being close to my family and friends. People who know me, and still love (maybe even like) me for me. It will take time, I know, but it has still been hard.
Jen's reasons she misses home, in no particular order:
  • Stopping by to see my Mom and get a reaction out of her.
  • Knowing that I can call a friend when I need to get out and get a DC.
  • FHE with both sides of the family. Just knowing what you are missing...
  • Driving past the "Dowdle" place every Monday and seeing my Dad's SUV.
  • Friday night dates at Bajio
  • Running with Kristin
  • Seeing my siblings whenever I want to, because I want to.
  • GNO with my girls at PFChangs for our birthdays and for whatever reason!
  • Being busy running my kids all over to their football, baseball, and dance activities.
  • knowing my neighbors and letting my kids just go run the cul-de-sac with their friends.
  • you have real grass and real yards.
  • knowing that I don't live close to my Grandma anymore.

There it all is! We are all doing well, excited for school to get out, and for us to have a fun, relaxing summer vacation! We have a lot planned and we are excited for our visit to Utah to see family and friends! Til then!
